Conservation Assistance Available For Some Farmers

Le Mars, Iowa — A project to help clean up Deep Creek has expanded north and east into O’Brien, Sioux, and Cherokee Counties.

Kristi Silverthorn, a Watershed Coordinator with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship tells us what the project is about.

She tells us why Deep Creek was selected.

Silverthorn says the project was recently expanded.

She says that’s important because it means that farmers in that area are eligible for financial assistance to implement soil conservation and water protection practices.
