Sheldon — Hoops and hi-jinks are coming to Sheldon Saturday night when the Harlem Ambassadors basketball team comes to town to face off against a group of local all-stars in a comedy basketball game to raise funds for the Foster Grandparents and Senior Companion Programs.
We talked to Brittany of the Harlem Ambassadors, who says the evening isn’t just about basketball, but about fun.
She says that this is the 18th season for the Harlem Ambassadors, and that they have changed the show up a bit for this year.
As part of their visit to Northwest Iowa, the Harlem Ambassadors are visiting area schools to put on presentations for the students. Brittany says these presentations are designed to be relevant to the students.
When it comes time for Saturday night’s game, she says the Harlem Ambassadors do their best to interact with, and play off of, the local all-stars they’re facing on the court.
Saturday night’s Harlem Ambassadors game begins at 7:00 pm in the Sheldon High School Gym, and tickets will be available at the door, with concessions available starting at 6:00. All proceeds will go to benefit the Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs.
