Arnolds Park, Iowa — One of the biggest names in Contemporary Christian Music will be appearing in concert this Sunday, August 19th, with the proceeds from the concert going to a building project for a small southwest Minnesota church.
Michael W. Smith will be performing at Preservation Plaza in Arnolds Park Sunday to benefit Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lakefield, Minnesota. Holy Trinity Pastor Dale Hedstrom tells KIWA that he is amazed they could get an artist of Michael W. Smith’s caliber to do the show.
Pastor Hedstrom says his small church has been trying to raise funds for some needed building upgrades for a couple of years.
The Pastor tells us where the idea for the fundraising concert originated.
Pastor Hedstrom says things are coming together because when God is behind something, he has ways of opening doors.
Sunday’s Michael W. Smith concert will be held outdoors at Preservation Plaza in Arnolds Park. Pastor Hedstrom says there will be three gates into the grounds, which will open at 3:00 Sunday afternoon. He says there will be two opening acts that will perform at 4:00 and 5:30pm, with Michael W. Smith taking to the stage somewhere around 7:00 or 7:15.
