Sheldon, Iowa — Each year since the 1980’s teams of carpentry and electrical students at Northwest Iowa Community College build a new home that is then auctioned off to the general public. This Saturday, June 18th, is the day set aside for this year’s house auction.
Ryan Cannoy is a Carpentry Instructor, and the Coordinator of the House Project at NCC. He describes the house that will be sold Saturday.
Cannoy says this house is truly a local, northwest Iowa house.
He says Saturday will start with an opportunity to view the house prior to the beginning of the auction.
Cannoy says it’s a great opportunity to come out and see what the NCC students accomplish, even if you’re not in the market for a house.
The successful bidder in Saturday’s auction will have until September to have the house moved to it’s final location.
