New Water Tower Project On Council Agenda

sheldon water tower smaller croppedSheldon, Iowa — A new water tower and upgrading of the wastewater system will be on the agenda when the Sheldon City Council meets Wednesday August 17th.

DGR Engineering will be at the meeting to present their proposal for engineering services for the design and bidding phases for the new water tower and the associated pipeline project.  The proposed water tower, which will be located near Country Club Road and 16th Street, will hold five hundred thousand gallons of water, with approximately 6,700 feet of water main included in the project.  The total cost of the engineering services is projected to be $111,750.00.

DGR will also make a presentation on the wastewater system.  The upgrade is being planned to meet new required specifications for wastewater processing and future growth of the city’s wastewater volume.

In other action, the Council will consider a request from the Northwest Iowa Regional Trust Fund, as well as consider an appointment to the Lewis and Clark Rural Water Board.

Wednesday’s meeting will begin at 4:30 pm in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
