O’Brien County Names New EMA Coordinator

O’Brien County, Iowa — The O’Brien County Emergency Management Agency Commission has filled the position of EMA Coordinator for O’Brien County.  That post has been vacant since former Coordinator, Anne Koontz passed away unexpectedly earlier this year.

According to a release from the Emergency Management Commission, 26-year old Jared Johnson of Ida Grove has been hired to fill the EMA Coordinator position.  Johnson has been working as an assistant to the Ida County Emergency Management Agency, and Ida County Environmental Health.

Johnson is a 2008 graduate of Sheldon High School.  He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology Health from Northwestern College, and an Associate Degree in Business Management from Northwest Iowa Community College.

Johnson will be moving to O’Brien County, and will assume his duties as the county’s EMA Coordinator on Tuesday, July 5th.
