Reynolds Appoints Northwest Iowa Banker As Banking Superintendent

Arnolds Park, Iowa — Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has announced the appointment of Jeff Plagge of Arnolds Park as the new Superintendent of the Iowa Division of Banking.

Plagge, who currently serves as president and CEO of Northwest Financial Corporation, is set to take over when current superintendent Ron Hansen steps down in mid-September. Plagge tells us how his appointment came about.

He says the Division of Banking is made up of three different bureaus.

Plagge has been president and CEO of Northwest Financial Corporation for the past ten years, and says the transition into his new job will take several months to complete.

Plagge has served as the chairman of the Iowa Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association, as a board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, as the chairman of the Community Depository Institution Advisory Council for the Chicago Federal Reserve and as a member of the same Council for the Board of Governors. He graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business and a minor in Advertising and Public Relations. He also completed the Colorado Graduate School of Banking program.

Plagge’s appointment is subject to confirmation by the Iowa Senate.
