Boyden, Iowa– A car was destroyed in a fire on Thursday, November 10, 2016 near Boyden.
According to Boyden Fire Chief Chris Starkenburg, about 8:20 PM, the Boyden Fire Department was called to the report of car fire next to a garage at 3870 310th Street, about a mile and a half northwest of Boyden.
The chief says the fire department saw flames in the engine compartment as they approached the scene. He says they used water and foam to fight the fire.
Starkenburg says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and is under investigation.
He says they used 200 gallons of water to fight the fire, and crews were on scene for 45 minutes.
