Sheldon City Council To Meet Wednesday

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session in their council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center this Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Several things are on their consent agenda, which normally get approved all with one motion. This time it includes a pay estimate for Lewis and Clark, a pay estimate for the water tower project in the amount of $64,885, an appointment of Rachel Becker to the airport commission, the authorization of the hiring of Scott Ruden to the water operator position, and several items related to the airport including the completion of the fuel system improvements phase 2, a couple of pay estimates, and more.

In new business, the council also plans to hold a public hearing and first reading of proposed text amendments to the zoning code. One of the changes would be to require elevators for apartment buildings (new construction) of greater than two stories. They will also hear a Crossroads Pavilion report from Tricia Meendering and they will hear the introduction of Capital Improvement plans among other items.

The meeting is open to the public.
