Sheldon, Iowa — The annual fundraiser for the Sheldon Community Middle School is underway, but with a new twist this year.
Principal Cindy Barwick says they’ve moved away from their traditional magazine sales fundraiser this year.
Barwick says the September 27th Color Fun Run will wind its way around the Sheldon Schools campus.
She says the money raised by the annual fundraiser is used for special events for the middle school students.
Barwick says that, while the amount of money generated by their fundraisers each year has remained static, the costs of the field trips have continued to increase regularly.
If you haven’t been contacted by a Sheldon middle schooler asking you to sponsor them in the Color Fun Run, Barwick says you can call the Sheldon Middle School at 712-324-4346, and they’ll send someone out to see you. Otherwise, she says, you can visit the Middle School’s Facebook page.
That Color Fun Run is scheduled for Friday, September 27th, and fundraising for the event runs through Monday, September 16th.
