SHS “Vocal Fusion” Headed To State

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon’s Jazz Choir, Vocal Fusion, is headed for the Iowa State High School Jazz Choir Contest next Tuesday in West Des Moines.

Sheldon High School Choir Director Caitlin Hanson tells us how Vocal Fusion came to be chosen for the state contest.

Hanson says she’s very excited that the group qualified, since they have a rich tradition of making the state competition.

She says Vocal Fusion is comprised of a group of students who are involved in multiple other extra-curricular activities, as well.

Hanson says the group is comprised of vocalists and instrumentalists.

We asked her about the music Vocal Fusion will be performing at state.

Hanson says you can hear Vocal Fusion, as well as other Sheldon High School vocal groups, by attending their Swing Choir Show this weekend.

Again, the Swing Choir Show will be held both Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 in the Sheldon High School Auditorium.
