Hull, Iowa — A tractor was destroyed in a fire on Monday, November 6, 2017 near Hull.
According to Hull Fire Chief Greg Van Roekel, about 4:05 p.m., the Hull Fire Department was called to the report of a tractor fire in the field, near 270th Street and Ibex Avenue, five miles north and a mile east of Hull.
The chief says the fire department saw an older 4440 John Deere tractor fully engulfed as they approached the scene. He says they extinguised the fire with water.
Van Roekel says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.
Chief Van Roekel reports that the tractor was totaled in the fire.
He says they used 200 gallons of water to fight the fire, and crews were on scene for about a half an hour.
