football 1Northwest Iowa — It’s opening night for high school football in Iowa. On KIWA AM 1550 it’s Sibley Ocheyedan at Sheldon. On KIWA FM 105.3 we’ll bring you Boyden Hull Rock Valley at Western Christian.

The Orabs renew an old rivalry against the Generals at Orab Field. Sheldon Head Coach Tyler Lloyd is impressed with the General’s Physicality.

For the Orabs the keys to a season opening win come down to execution and tempo.

Generals Head Coach Dan Spooner feels it’s good to renew the old rivalry.

Spooner sees the Generals and Orabs as very similar.

At Hesla Field in Hull another rivalry will be renewed with Western Christian hosting Boyden Hull Rock Valley. Nighthawks Head Coach Cory Brandt talks about  renewing the rivalry.

Long term Brandt is looking for his team to improve daily.

Travis Kooima leads a Wolfpack squad that played for a State Title a year ago. While last year is over some of the lessons learned will help the Wolfpack this year.

Kooima sees the Nighthawks as a definite challenge to prepare for.
