Dordt Over Jamestown 49-18

Big plays were the rule as the Dordt Defenders won their second game in a row for the second time this season and improved to 5-2 in the process and stayed in a tie for third place in the GPAC with three games to go in the season.

Dordt scored on a four play drive to start the game with Keithen Drury carrying it in from 16 yards out to cap the drive. The score was set up by a Brock Lamle 52 yard run earlier in the drive.

Jamestown appeared poised to bounce back but Casey Byker picked off a Jordan Mann pass and returned it 93 yards for a touchdown.

Jamestown got on the board with a 75 yard drive later in the quarter but the kick was blocked.  Drury went 65 yards for a score just before the first quarter ended and Dordt was up 21-6 at the quarter intermission.

With the game still very much in doubt Byker picked off another pass, this time at the 41 yard line and the senior went the distance again for a 28-6 lead.

Jamestown got in the end zone with 1:26 left in the half but left too much time on the clock and Dordt had an answer with Levi Jungling catching a 31 yard pass for a score with :11 left in the half and Dordt led 35-12.

Jamestown added one score midway through the third quarter but Lamle found Jungling for another 35 yard pass on the next drive and Dordt capped the scoring with a Lamle to Levi Schoonhoven pass for 14 yards and Dordt’s seventh touchdown of the game.

Byker also had a third interception in the fourth quarter to keep Jamestown out of the end zone.

Dordt will host Briar Cliff on Saturday, October 27 in a 1:00 kickoff for the final home game of the regular season.
