GPAC Cross Country Championships This Saturday At Dordt

Sioux Center, Iowa – The 2017 GPAC Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Dordt College and will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 in Sioux Center, Iowa, at the Dordt College Cross Country Course on campus.

The women’s 5K race will gun at 10:45 a.m., with the men’s 8K race beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Morningside’s women were the 2016 GPAC Champions, while Northwestern’s men won the team title last fall at Hastings.

Entering the race Saturday on the women’s side Dordt is ranked 11th, Morningside 16, and Hastings is 24th in the NAIA.  Northwestern’s women are receiving votes.  On the men’s side Northwestern is ranked 14th, while Dordt and Doane are receiving votes in the NAIA.

There will be a new women’s individual champion this year as Doane’s Marissa DeWispelare has graduated, while on the men’s side there will also be a new champion as Will Norris from Northwestern also has graduated.

The NAIA National Cross Country Championships will be on November 18 in Vancouver, Washington, at the Fort Vancouver Historic Site.
