Biden administration to expand high-speed broadband access

IARN — Wednesday, President Biden was in Illinois to talk about ways his administration plans to help rural communities and farmers get access to more tools and services to help them be more profitable and sustainable in the future. One of these topics was centered on high-speed broadband and the quest to make it not only accessible but affordable.

National Economic Council Deputy Director Bharat Ramamurti says this week’s announcement builds on a program to reduce the cost of broadband products by $30 per month for rural areas.
