The Dordt Defenders never trailed in a road contest with Hastings on Saturday, earning a convincing win to remain in the top four of the GPAC standings. Dordt opened the scoring with a 4-0 lead off of a couple of baskets from Ashtyn Veerbeek and Karly Gustafson. The defensive pressure from both teams kept the scoring output low throughout the first quarter until Mya Chmielewski’s three and McKenna Klecker’s four-point play extended Dordt’s lead to nine through eight and a half minutes of play. Hastings scored the next five points to cut the Dordt lead to four after the fourth quarter.

Late Surge Pushes Chargers Past Midland
The Briar Cliff men’s basketball team picked up a 90-85 victory over Midland Saturday in the Newman Flanagan Center. The Chargers improve to 11-8 on the season and 8-6 in conference play. The Cliff was led by Jaden Kleinhesselink’s 19 points and Quinn Vesey’s 17 points. Read more
