Sheldon, IA – Summer blood donations are running low and blood usage is up due to higher volumes of surgeries, emergencies, and traumas. Community Blood Bank is calling for all blood donors to come to the aid of local patients by giving blood on Wednesday, August 10 at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center between 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. To schedule a donation, log onto www.cbblifeblood.org, select “events” or call 605-331-3222. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org) weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good general health. Donors exhibiting cold or flu symptoms are unable to donate. A valid identification is required at the time of registration.
