Melvin 125th Celebration

June 19 - June 21

The community of Melvin will celebrate its 125th Anniversary the weekend of June 19th through 21st with three days of events for all ages.

Friday’s schedule includes a pop‑up shop from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Melvin Civic Center, a Historical Cemetery Walk at 6 and 8 p.m., a community supper from 5 to 7 p.m. outside the fire station, Mini Golf Around Melvin from 5 to 8 p.m., live music by Shawn Mayer at JR’s Bar at 7 p.m., and fireworks at dusk at De Graaf County Park.

Saturday features a 9-10 a.m. pop‑up shop, a 10 a.m. parade on Main Street, food and beverage vendors at De Graaf County Park beginning at 11 a.m., a farm equipment show, sand volleyball at 1 p.m., the All School Reunion at the American Legion, face painting, yard games, a bean bag tournament, a car show, a kids’ tractor pedal pull, inflatables, church open houses, and live music from Audrea and the Machine from 4 to 7 p.m. and the Jeremy DeWall Band from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Sunday includes a 10 a.m. community worship service at Melvin American Lutheran Church, a noon pop‑up shop, Battle of the Barrel water fights at 1 p.m. on Main Street, a foam party from 12 to 2 p.m., food and beverages at JR’s Bar from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sherry’s Kitchen from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Other weekend activities include Melvin’s Big Chair, a visitor map, a self‑guided history tour, Adopt‑A‑Spot displays, a memory wall and slideshow, and a commemorative whiskey auction.
