Orange City Arts invites photography enthusiasts and aspiring shutterbugs to join “Photography Basics with Jerry Mennenga” on Saturday, June 28th, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Stadscentrum in Orange City.
This hands-on workshop, led by Siouxland-based photographer Jerry Mennenga, will cover essential techniques in digital photography, including composition, lighting, and camera settings—perfect for beginners, or anyone looking to brush up on their skills. Please note: this workshop focuses exclusively on digital camera use (no phone photography).
Participants will have the opportunity to practice what they’ve learned by taking a series of photos and sharing their work with the group for discussion and feedback.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, June 28th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Stadscentrum in Orange City at 101 2nd St NE, Orange City, IA 51041. It is open to participants ages 16 and up, with a registration cost of $25. Attendees are required to bring their own digital camera (no phones) and a clean SD memory card for the hands-on portion of the class.
About the Artist:
Jerry Mennenga is a seasoned photographer with over thirty years of experience, primarily working for newspapers and publications, while also engaging in commercial photography. Since 2012, he has maintained a personal blog, where he showcases his photographic work from the Siouxland region and reflects on photography as an art form.
