Hawkeye Point will host a community celebration on Saturday, July 11th, featuring the official dedication of the “Tallest Ear of Corn in Iowa.”
The public is invited to visit Hawkeye Point Park throughout the day, with a pancake and sausage meal served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a free concert by The Klassen Family beginning at 11 a.m. The dedication program will follow the concert, recognizing project supporters and unveiling the new silo mural painted by Troy Freeman.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the updated pathways, lighting, signage, landscaping, and other recent improvements across the park, including the agricultural museum, observation deck, native grass plots, and antique machinery displays. Seating is limited, so attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
