Alcester Teen Taken To Hospital After Hawarden Accident

Hawarden, Iowa — An Alcester, South Dakota teen was taken to the hospital after an accident on Wednesday night near Hawarden.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 9:20 p.m., 17-year-old Kaiden Haeder of Alcester was driving a 2016 Ford F-150 pickup northbound on Buchanan Avenue, about two miles south of Hawarden when he lost control of the vehicle, which entered the west ditch and rolled.

The Hawarden Ambulance took Haeder to Hawarden Regional Healthcare. His injuries were described as “minor.”

The Ford sustained approximately $8,000 in damage.

Haeder was cited on a charge of failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hawarden Fire Department and Hawarden Ambulance.
