Alton Man Faces Sex Abuse Charge In Sanborn

Sanborn, Iowa — An Alton man has been arrested on sex abuse charges in Sanborn.

Twenty-year-old Ethan Selby of Alton is accused of unwanted sexual touching, according to court documents filed by the Sanborn Police Department in O’Brien County. He was arrested on Friday.

In his statement, the officer says the juvenile victim reported that in 2022, they were asleep on a couch at home when they were allegedly awakened by another person inappropriately touching them in a sexual manner.

Selby was charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison.

He faces a preliminary hearing on March 27th.

At last report, Selby remained in the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar in lieu of bond.
