Alvord Juvenile Faces Felony Eluding Charge After Pursuit

Lester, Iowa — A 15-year-old from Alvord faces five charges, one of them a felony in Lyon County after a pursuit there on Saturday.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, the juvenile faces a felony eluding charge for driving over 25 miles per hour over the speed limit while being pursued by a Lyon County Deputy.

Lyon County Chief Deputy Rob Ver Meer says it started with a traffic stop south of Lester. But instead of stopping, the driver eluded the deputy for a short time.

Since the individual is only 15 years old, and a juvenile, their name and gender is not being released, but according to the Lyon County Arrest Log, not only are they being charged with eluding and speeding, but they are also charged with violation of an instruction permit, careless driving, and reckless driving.
