Rock Rapids, Iowa — Lyon County Sheriff deputies continue their sting operation to catch alleged lawbreakers in the act.
This time, a Minnesota man has been arrested on felony sexual exploitation, grooming, and obscene material charges.
A criminal complaint says 30-year-old Joshua Meuleners of Le Sueur, Minnesota, faces charges for allegedly transmitting explicit images to an undercover investigator who was impersonating a 15-year-old girl. He was arrested on Thursday.
Meuleners was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, a class B felony; and grooming, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to 25 years in prison on the class B charge and five years on the class D charge. He also faces 44 misdemeanor counts of telephone dissemination of obscene material to a minor.
He faces a preliminary hearing on February 16th.
At last report, Meuleners remained in the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
