Archer Man Injured In Saturday Morning Rollover

Sheldon, Iowa — An Archer man was injured in a single-vehicle rollover accident late Saturday morning east of Sheldon.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the mishap occurred about 11:30 Saturday morning near the intersection of 330th Street and Highway 60. Troopers say 78-year-old Bill Engeltjes, of Archer, was eastbound on 330th Street in a 2005 Ford Ranger pickup, when he lost control of the truck on the icy roadway, entered the south embankment, rolled multiple times and came to rest at the bottom of the embankment.

Authorities say Engeltjes was taken to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team.

Troopers termed Engeltjes’ pickup as a total loss.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Sheldon Police and Fire Departments, as well as SCAT.
