Boyden Teen Taken To Hospital After Hull Area Crash

Hull, Iowa — A Boyden teen was taken to a hospital after an accident near Hull on Monday, November 26th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 3:55 p.m., 29-year-old George Beyer of George was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pulling a manure pump eastbound on Highway 18, a mile east of Hull. They report that 17-year-old Ethan Heynen of Boyden was driving a 1997 Ford F‐250 pickup southbound on Indian Avenue.

The report says Heynen attempted to turn left onto Highway 18 and struck Beyer in the intersection.

Deputies tell us the Hull Ambulance took Heynen to the Sioux Center Hospital. Beyer reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.

Beyer’s Chevrolet pickup sustained about $9,000 in damage. The manure pump sustained an estimated $60,000 in damage. The Ford pickup driven by Heynen sustained about $4,000 in damage.

Heynen was cited on a charge of failure to obey a stop sign.

The Sheriff’s Office says the Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the crash.
