Primghar, Iowa– A car was damaged in a fire on Saturday, February 16, 2019, in Primghar.
According to Primghar Assistant Fire Chief Cory Crouch, about 2:50 p.m., the Primghar Fire Department was called to the report of a car fire at 360 Second Street Northwest in Primghar.
The chief says the fire department saw fire under the hood of a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix as they approached the scene. He says the air intake on top of the engine was on fire. They extinguished the blaze with minimal water, says Crouch.
Assistant Chief Crouch says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire is undetermined. Those on scene said they were jumpstarting the car when they heard a popping noise and that’s when the fire started. The fire is under investigation says Crouch.
He says the six firefighters who responded were on scene for 15-20 minutes.
