Cherokee Man Arrested While Driving In Ditch

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Cherokee man faces a pair of felony charges after his arrest early Sunday evening near Sioux Center.

Authorities say 34-year-old William Sisemore was found by a Sioux County Deputy operating a motor vehicle in the ditch east of Sioux Center on 390th Street. Sisemore is accused of being under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.

According to court records, when deputies searched Sisemore’s person, incident to arrest, they allegedly discovered a syringe in his pants pocket that was reportedly loaded with ten units of a liquid. Deputies say that liquid tested positive as methamphetamine.

Sisemore was taken to the Sioux County Jail, charged with 3rd Offense OWI (drugs) and 3rd Offense Possession of Methamphetamine. Both charges are Class D Felonies. In addition, he was charged with Driving While Barred, which is an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

As of mid-afternoon Monday, Sisemore remained in the Sioux County Jail.
