Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Christian School held a Petting Zoo on Thursday.

Sheldon Christian Administrator Marlin Schoonhoven says it was a free event.

He says it wasn’t a fundraiser, but more of a public relations event.

The event was held all day on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. He says the animals were not a commercial petting zoo, but came from different people that those in charge were familiar with. He says in addition to Sheldon Christian’s students, Sheldon Community Schools sent their preschool, kindergarten, and first graders.
