Alvord, Iowa — A Doon man was taken to a hospital after an accident in Alvord on Wednesday, November 6th, 2019.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that 70-year-old Dennis Netten of Doon was eastbound on A34/210th street in a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup just east of the intersection of the City of Alvord’s Main Street. As Netten was crossing a bridge, his vehicle lost traction caused by the ice-covered surface, went off the roadway, and entered the south ditch, where it rolled one complete rotation.
The Lyon County Ambulance took Netten to Hegg Health Center Avera in Rock Valley.
Netten’s pickup was a total loss.
The Alvord Fire Department and the Lester Rescue Squad assisted the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office with the response to the accident.
