Eastern Iowa Man Accused Of Vandalizing Pride Group Facility

Primghar, Iowa — An eastern Iowa man has been arrested on felony charges after an incident at the Pride Group near Primghar.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 34-year-old Ellis Lard of Fredericksburg, Iowa is accused of vandalizing the facility. He was arrested on Wednesday, July 12th.

In his statement, the deputy alleges that Lard “entered the Pride Group facility angry and went behind the front reception/nurses desk and destroyed two computer monitors, a hard drive, and then a flat screen TV in the residents’ common room.”

Lard was charged with second degree criminal mischief, a class D felony. If convicted, Lard could face up to five years in prison.

He faces a preliminary hearing on the charge on Wednesday, August 2nd.

He was booked into the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar, but was released on a $5000 unsecured appearance bond after court on Thursday.
