UPDATE: Five Arrested In Thursday Morning Sheldon Drug Raids

Sheldon, Iowa — Five people were arrested following the execution of search warrants at two Sheldon residences Thursday morning.

According to Sheldon Police Chief Scott Burtch, search warrants were simultaneously served at 817 and 903 4th Street in Sheldon at approximately 8:00 am Thursday morning. The investigation was led by the Sheldon Police Department, with assistance from the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, according to Burtch.

Arrested were:

Shawn Rooney, who was charged with Gathering where a controlled substance is used, other than marijuana (D Felony), Possession of a controlled substance 3rd – methamphetamine (D Felony), Possession of a controlled substance – marijuana 3rd (D Felony), Possession of drug paraphernalia – (Simple misdemeanor)

Jason Rutzen, who faces charges of Gathering where a controlled substance is used, other than marijuana (D Felony), Possession of a controlled substance 3rd – methamphetamine (D Felony), Obstructing prosecution or defense (aggravated misdemeanor), Possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor)

Ryan Monaghan is charged with Gathering where a controlled substance is used, other than marijuana (D Felony), Possession of a controlled substance 3rd – methamphetamine (D Felony), Possession of Marijuana 3rd (D Felony), Possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor)

Debra Schuknecht, who is charged with Gathering where a controlled substance is used, other than marijuana (D Felony), Possession of a controlled substance 3rd – methamphetamine (D Felony), Possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor)

Eric Schwager, who is charged with Gathering where a controlled substance is used, other than marijuana (D Felony), Possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor)

Sheldon Police were assisted in executing the warrants by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office and K9 Unit, Iowa State Patrol and Lyon County K9 Unit.

Sheldon, Iowa — Five people are under arrest following a Thursday morning drug raid at a Sheldon residence.

According to Sheldon Police Chief Scott Burtch, officers from four area agencies executed a pair of search warrants at an address on 4th Street in Sheldon Thursday morning. Chief Burtch tells KIWA five individuals were arrested as a result of the raid.

The Chief says officers from the Sheldon Police Department were assisted in the raid by Lyon and O’Brien County Sheriff’s K9 units, as well as troopers from the Iowa State Patrol.
