George Woman Taken To Hospital After Crashing Car At Jimmy John’s In Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa– A George woman was taken to the hospital after an accident in Sheldon on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that a few minutes before 12:00 noon, 29-year-old Tabitha Wichman of George was driving a 2017 GMC Yukon eastbound in the drive-through at Jimmy Johns. Wichman reported she fell asleep, causing the vehicle to roll through the drive-through and strike a parked 2019 GMC pickup that was legally parked at Crossroads Travel Plaza.

According to the officer, Wichman was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol. He says tests were completed and sent to the Iowa DCI Crime Lab for analysis.

The Sheldon Community Ambulance Team took Wichman to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

Wichman’s GMC Yukon sustained $1500 in damages, and the parked pickup sustained $500 in damages.
