Hartley Man Faces Trio Of Charges After Domestic Abuse Report

Hartley, Iowa — A Hartley man faces a trio of criminal charges following an alleged domestic assault.

According to court records, 42-year-old Charles Wesley Stutz was arrested during the very early morning hours Wednesday as the result of a domestic disturbance at his Hartley residence.

Authorities say Stutz is accused of impeding the victim’s oxygen and blood flow by choking, as well as biting her during the alleged assault. Police say the couple’s one-month-old infant was in the room at the time of the incident.

Stutz is accused of: Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Air or Blood Flow Causing Bodily Injury, a Class D Felony; Child Endangerment, an Aggravated Misdemeanor; and 2nd Degree Harassment, a Serious Misdemeanor.

A Preliminary Hearing in the case is scheduled for March 9th in O’Brien County Magistrate Court.
