Ruthven, Iowa — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has released details into a motorcycle crash on Sunday, September 1st, that injured a Hartley man.
Authorities say 44-year-old Wayne Sorgdrager was operating a 1996 Honda Shadow on 330th Avenue southbound near Lost Island Lake north of Ruthven, when he failed to negotiate a curve. They say Sorgdrager was thrown off the motorcycle as it traveled into the ditch. He was treated on the scene by EMT’s and was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital with injuries to his chest, arms and legs.
Authorities say charges of failure to have a valid motorcycle endorsement and failure to provide security against liability are pending against Sorgdrager.
The crash took place around 3:00 pm Sunday, September 1st.
