Hartley Man Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash

Sheldon, Iowa — A Hartley man was injured in a single-vehicle accident five miles southwest of Sheldon Tuesday (January 15th) morning.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened shortly after 11:00 Tuesday morning when 51-year old Manuel Rodriguez of Hartley was southbound on Lily Avenue in a 2006 Freightliner straight truck when he lost control of the truck, which then entered the east ditch and rolled.

Rodriguez was taken to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Boyden Ambulance, for treatment of his injuries.

Deputies estimate the damage to Rodriguez’ Freightliner at $50-thousand. He was reportedly cited for Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle.

Sioux County authorities were assisted at the scene by the Boyden Fire Department and Boyden Ambulance.
