Sioux Center, Iowa — A Hawarden man backed into a Rock Valley woman’s vehicle on Monday, December 7th near Sioux Center.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 8:05 am on Monday, 29-year-old Tyler De Jong of Hawarden was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on 360th Street, and stopped at a stop sign at Highway 75, two miles north of Sioux Center. Fifty-three-year-old Kathy Ver Steeg of Rock Valley was driving a 2013 Toyota Tacoma eastbound on 360th Street, and stopped behind De Jong. According to the report, De Jong began backing on 360th Street for a turning vehicle and struck Ver Steeg.
The Toyota received $500 damage.
No injuries were reported.
