Hawarden Teen Injured In Motorcycle Accident

Sioux Sheriff 84-8 FacebookRock Valley, Iowa — A Hawarden teen was injured after he lost control of his motorcycle near Rock Valley on Saturday, April 1st.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that after 9:00 pm on Saturday, 19-year-old Trevor Hoogendoorn of Hawarden was driving a a 2007 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle eastbound on 360th Street, nine miles southwest of Rock Valley. According to the report, The Deputy activated the emergency lights to stop Hoogendoorn for a speed violation when Hoogendoorn accelerated the motorcycle, lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch.

Hoogendoorn reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.

The Suzuki sustained received $5,000 damage.

Hoogendoorn was cited with a charge of speeding, failing to maintain control of a motor vehicle and no motor vehicle insurance‐accident related.
