2 Injured When ATV and Motorcycle Collide

sioux county sheriff emblemMaurice, Iowa — Two Orange City residents were injured after their ATV and motorcycle collided on a farm property outside of Maurice on Sunday, April 2nd.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 6:30 pm on Sunday, 18-year-old Austin De Boer of Orange City was driving a 2006 Yamaha ATV eastbound along an empty pit area at on a farm property at 460th Street, two and three‐quarter miles northeast of Maurice. Twenty-one-year-old Blake Mulder of Orange City was driving a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle southbound inside the pit area. According to the report, Mulder attempted to jump the motorcycle out of the pit and struck De Boer.

De Boer was transported by private vehicle to the Orange City Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Mulder reported minor injuries sought medical attention on his own.

The ATV and motorcycle received $500 damage each.

The accident remains under investigation.
