Rock Valley, Iowa — Emergency responders, including a hazardous materials response crew from Sioux City, have been sent to a scene near Rock Valley.
The hazmat incident happened in the rural area around Rock Valley at a dairy farm, according to Director Ryan De Kruyf of the Sioux County Emergency Management Agency.
He says first responders were sent to Meadowvale Dairy, a little over seven miles west of Rock Valley, not far from Highway 18.
De Kruyf says hazmat crews from Sioux City Fire Rescue were called in to help. According to De Kruyf, the hazmat personnel were needed because they possess the equipment necessary to safely respond to this incident.
As of 12:45 p.m., crews are still actively responding to the scene at the dairy farm.
No other information has been released at this time.
