Hull, Iowa — A Hospers 18-year-old is behind bars facing a serious felony sex charge after an incident in Hull.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Fabian Nuno of Hospers is accused of having sex with a 12-year-old. He was arrested on Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office tells us the arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred at an earlier date, on which, in the overnight hours a deputy patrolling through the Eastside Park in Hull allegedly discovered Nuno inside a vehicle with a 12-year-old female. The deputy stated that the two were engaged in unlawful consensual sexual contact with each other.
Nuno was charged with second-degree sexual abuse, a class B felony. If convicted, Nuno could face up to 25 years in prison.
He faces a preliminary hearing on the charge on Tuesday, June 27th.
At last report, Nuno remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City in lieu of a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
