Hospers, Iowa — The Hospers Fire Department was called out on Friday, December 17, 2021, for a fire in Hospers.
According to Hospers Fire Chief Jason Overmole, about 3:20 p.m., the Hospers Fire Department was called to the report of an oven on fire at Den Hartog Industries in Hospers.
The chief says the fire department saw smoke coming from the building as they approached the scene. He says the fire was in an industrial powder coat oven. Overmole says no injuries were reported.
Overmole says the Granville Fire Department also responded, as they have an auto-aid agreement with that department.
He says the cause of the fire appeared to be accidental in nature, and there were no malfunctions.
Chief Overmole reports that there was minimal damage, as the fire (except for a fair amount of smoke) was contained to the oven itself.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about 45 minutes.
