Hull Man Accused Of Violating Provisions Of Sex Offender Registration

Hull, Iowa — A Hull man has been arrested and is accused of violating provisions of his sex offender registration.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says that on Monday morning, their deputies arrested 69-year-old Ronald Bonestroo of Hull. They tell us the arrest stemmed from an investigation into a report that Bonestroo was violating the conditions of being a registrant of the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.

Upon further investigation, deputies believe Bonestroo sent a friend request to a Facebook group that a woman manages for young girls. After his name was initially added, he was recognized as being registered on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry and his account was blocked that evening.

Bonestroo was convicted of attempting commercial sex trafficking in another state in 2013.

He was charged with violation of sex offender registration.
