Hull Man Taken To Hospital After Motorcycle Accident

Hull, Iowa — A Hull man was taken to a hospital after an accident on Monday night near that town.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office tells us the call came in shortly after 9:00 p.m. They say 82-year-old James Andringa of Sanborn was driving a 2015 Ford Edge northbound on Highway 75, three miles northwest of Hull at the north junction with Highway 18. They say 51-year-old Eric Rens of Hull, was driving a 2014 Suzuki motorcycle, also northbound on Highway 75. The report says Andringa began making a U-turn in the intersection and the two vehicles collided.

We’re told the Hull Ambulance took Rens to Sioux Center Health.

The Andringa Ford sustained about $7,000 in damage. The Rens Suzuki sustained about $3,000 in damage.

Andringa was cited on a charge of making an unsafe turn.

The sheriff’s office reports that the Rock Valley Police Department, Hull Fire Department, and Hull Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the accident.
