Sioux Center, Iowa– A Hull woman was taken to the hospital after a crash in Sioux Center on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The Sioux Center Police Department reports that at about 5:10 p.m., 21-year-old Jeremiah Kredit of Sioux Center was driving a 2015 Lincoln SUV northbound on Highway 75, at 7th Street North. They tell us that 60-year-old Sandra Westra of Hull was also northbound on 75 in a 2011 Dodge SUV.
The report says that Westra was stopped at the 7th Street intersection for a red light. Kredit was behind Westra. Kredit advised that he was adjusting his volume and looking towards the nearby bank. When Kredit realized traffic was stopping for the stoplight, he slammed on the brakes but was unable to stop in time.
The Sioux Center Ambulance took Westra to Sioux Center Health Hospital.
Kredit’s Lincoln SUV sustained $5000 in damages, and Westra’s Dodge SUV sustained $4000 in damages.
Kredit was charged with failure to stop in assured clear distance.
