Sioux County, Iowa — An Ireton man faces four felony counts, after being accused of election misconduct.
According to trial information filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Iowa Attorney General’s Office, Jose Lozano Munoz registered and voted without being qualified to do so. He was arrested on Friday, March 14th.
In a trial information document, Assistant Iowa Attorney General Carin Forbes says Munoz produced or submitted a voter registration application that he knew to be materially false or fraudulent and voted or attempted to vote in an election knowing himself not to be qualified — three times.
Munoz was charged with four counts of first-degree election misconduct. If convicted, Munoz could face up to five years in prison for each count.
Munoz was booked into the Sioux County Jail in Orange City and was released the same day after posting a $5000 bond.
