Ireton Woman Airlifted After Rolling Her Vehicle Near Carnes

Carnes, Iowa — An Ireton woman was taken to the hospital after an accident on Sunday evening at Carnes.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 8:50 p.m., 27-year-old Jade Vlotho of Ireton was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on Jackson Avenue, also known as County road K-64, when she lost control of the vehicle, which entered the east ditch, rolled, and then crossed a lane of travel, coming to a rest on Highway 60.

An ambulance took Vlotho to the Orange Area Health System Hospital. She was later flown to Sanford University Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

Damage to the Chevrolet was estimated at $15,000.

The sheriff’s office says the Orange City Ambulance, Orange City Fire Department, and Orange City-Alton Police Department assisted with the response to the accident, which they say remains under investigation.
