O’Brien County, Iowa — A Sheldon man escaped injury after his vehicle rolled on Friday, November 18th.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 8:17 am on Friday, 34-year-old Corey Brewster was driving a 1998 GMC Jimmy eastbound on 390th Street. According to the report, Brewster slowed to allow vehicles ahead of him to turn. As Brewster began to accelerate the vehicle began to spin on the slush covered roadway. The vehicle then slid into the north ditch and rolled onto its top.
The GMC received $4,000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
Two Sutherland teen’s were in an accident on Friday, November 18th on Highway 59.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 8:05 am on Friday, 14-year-old Reid Nelson of Sutherland was driving a 2002 Ford Focus westbound on Highway 59. Fifteen-year-old Thomas Nelson of Sutherland was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer westbound on Highway 59, behind Nelson. According to the report, Nelson lost control on the ice and slush, spun and ended up facing east in the west lane. Nelson was not able to stop on due to road conditions and ran into the Focus which ended up stopped in the lane.
The Focus received $1500 damage. The Explorer received $3500 damage.
No injuries were reported.
A Primghar man was injured after his car rolled on Friday, November 18th.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 10:30 pm on Friday, 64-year-old David Brown of Primghar was driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado northbound on Van Buren Avenue. According to the report, Brown’s dog was in the cab of the pickup, the dog jumped on his lap and caused him to lose control and enter the east ditch. The report continues that the truck rolled over, damaged some field fence and came to rest on its wheels.
The Chevy received $9000 damage. The field fence received $100 damage.
Brown reported minor injuries by declined any further medical treatment.
