Little Rock Firefighters Join Four Other Departments To Extinguish Machine Shed Fire

North Little Rock, Minnesota — A machine shed and its contents of farm equipment were destroyed in a fire on Sunday, January 8, 2023, near Little Rock.

According to Little Rock Fire Chief Joe Schilling, at about 2:25 p.m., the Little Rock Fire Department was called to the report of a machine shed fire at 18262 320th Street, six miles north of Little Rock, two miles into Minnesota.

The chief says the fire department saw a large shed on fire as they approached the scene.

Schilling says no injuries were reported.

The fire department was assisted by the Ellsworth, George, Adrian, and Bigelow fire departments and Little Rock EMS.

He says the cause of the fire appeared to be a short in an electric cord.

Chief Schilling reports that there was well over $600,000 in damage. He says the shed had been used as a shop and for equipment storage. Several items were destroyed in the fire, inclucing wagons, skid loaders, ATVs, and tools. Schilling tells us the building was attached to another large shed. That building was saved, but did sustain some heat and smoke damage, according to Schilling.

He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for almost five hours.
